Christmas 2005

Christmas 2005 was a wonderful time for the Larkin family. We took a road trip with the whole family down to New Orleans to spend the holiday with Jim's parents & both Grandmothers. It was a delightful time of laughing, enjoying quiet time playing cards and watching Meg run wild through the house - I think we all found it amazing how much energy a 21 month old can generate...I just wish I could bottle and sell it (not the first time a mother has thought this, I'm sure!)
Santa was good to everyone, and Meg found great joy in tearing wrapping paper from the presents, although no one toy could hold her attention for very long - she was way too busy for that!!
During our trip, we discovered that Meg has names for her New Orleanian Grandparental units, as well as both of her Great Grandmothers -- Jim's Mom has affectionately become known as MeeMaw, Jim's Dad has retained Pop-Pop...Grandma Cranston has adopted Nana and Grandma Larkin has become Great Grandma Bernie (which comes out just Bernie for now).
We are back in Dallas now, and will be celebrating the New Year in quiet fashion - gone are the days of big parties...replaced with the joy of getting to spend a quiet evening reveling in the amazement that is our family - we truly are blessed!
